Blade Runner

Inspiration

When Roy was dying, he said, "all those moments will be lost in time, like tears in the rain." The idea of those lost moments inspired our collage. We decided to a fully black-and-white background of other characters in the film and various beautiful images of the world. Roy's picture is elevated in bright colors. This contrast shows the loss of his memories, as if they are fading away.

This is us cutting out all of the photos for our collage!

Cutting the cardboard.

Taping the cut photos and painting the rest of the open space black.

Creating the stands to elevate the photo of Roy.

How did I relate to this quote?

Roy's final moments and the loss of his life's memories reminded me of a common phrase seen on social media. I see people excusing wasting time or skipping events by saying, "we're living on a floating rock, it doesn't matter, nothing matters." Although somewhat true, even if we are tiny specs in the middle of nowhere, this life may be all that we get. I want to live my life to the fullest by making as many fun and incredible memories and studying and working hard to achieve the future that I have dreamed of. Even if my memories do fade away after I die, I hope to look back and feel confident knowing that I spent my life with people I love and enjoyed it as much as possible.

Designer Inspiration: Sheri Hill Sherri Hill designs elegant evening wear. We were inspired by her simplistic looks with minor three-dimensional elements.  How does it connect to The 5th Element ? We were inspired by the main concept of the movie, saving the planet. We decided to use recyclable materials because in the future we hope that there will be a bigger effort into saving the planet.  Creative Process:

Creative Process Behind our Final Project

Don't Look Up Poster Creative Process: We decided to conduct our final project on the film, Don't Look Up. We drew inspiration for our poster from the ideas of politicians and social media blinding the world to the dangers of climate change.  Sofia laid out photos and text while outlining a border to cut and create a new background shape.                                         Me gluing down photos and text for the main piece of our poster.  Sofia beginning to place and glue photos and text on our newly shaped cover piece. Finished Product: We attached the two pieces together with staples to complete the look.
